Throughout the day on the second Saturday in May, letter carriers and volunteers will gather up food donations and load them on trucks at four sites in La Crosse and Onalaska. The “Stamp Out Hunger” event is a partnership between the United Way, Local Branch 59 of the National Association of Letter Carriers and Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO. Food will be distributed to five local food pantries.
Help Stamp Out Hunger in the Coulee Region by volunteering at the Letter Carriers’ food drive. We’re looking for volunteers like you to assist with unloading donations from volunteer vehicles and helping to sort them. We will be meeting in the parking lot behind Fire Station #3 (1710 Losey Blvd Near Central High School). This is an outdoor event and will happen rain or shine, so please dress for the weather.
Can you help make this day a success? The Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO, NALC Branch 59, & the Great Rivers United Way are recruiting volunteers to accept the food gathered by driving teams, and put it into a truck.
Also, encourage everyone you know to join you in donating food:
