FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 13, 2015
La Crosse — The Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO Central Labor Council has endorsed Commissioner Gloria Doyle for La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge, Branch 5. It will be the County’s only contested judicial race, with a primary on February 17th and a general election on April 7th.
Other endorsements of Commissioner Doyle include current judges Michael Rosborough and Elliott Levine, as well as four retired La Crosse County circuit judges (Judges Dennis Montabon, Michael Mulroy, Dale Pasell, and John Perlich). These judges represent the entire spectrum of political and philosophical leanings, yet they agree that Ms. Doyle is the best candidate for the position.
Commissioner Doyle is an active member of her church and many civic and professional organizations, including the Rotary, the Family Policy Board and the American Association of University of Wisconsin Women (AAUW). She is a regular attendee at many community functions and has been a great role model for young women in the legal profession.
Bill Brockmiller, President of the Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO issued the following statement regarding the endorsements:
“After carefully reviewing the judicial candidates’ records and statements, the Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO believes that Commissioner Doyle is the best choice for La Crosse County residents.”
“It is because her commitment to public safety and security as well as her belief in impartial justice for all regardless of their station in life that we endorse her. The Council is proud to join an impressive list of judges by extending our endorsement to Commissioner Doyle.”
The Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO’s mission is to bring social and economic justice to Western Wisconsin by enabling working people to have a voice on the job, in government, in a changing global economy and in their communities. The Labor Council seeks the fulfillment of economic justice for all workers and will continuously strive to maintain and improve work place conditions for all workers.
